Nowadays it’s key to find a genuine balance between ancient art forms and modern day digital techniques. Almost anything is possible, but not everything is to be desired. DesignBlend oversees all these options and combines them into beautiful concepts. When required it’s also about collaboration and attracting the right professionals with expertise. It is the passion, creativity and vision with which the designer creates the best concepts, regardless of product, purpose or location.

This way numerous projects have been fullfilled including private and corporate interiors, stands, furniture, over 60 websites, advertisements in magazines, artwork for fleet of cars, commercials for local and national broadcasting, a theatre play and creative corporate identities.

Pineta Estate

The Pineta Estate in Tilburg the Netherlands asked me to redesign their villa and surrounding areas. Pineta has a unique shape and size with a depth of 700 m, a few buildings, forest with landscaping and is surrounded by mainly small estates with villa’s.

World Press Photo DesignBlend

From 2003 onwards I designed various exhibition systems, interiors and exhibition content for World Press Photo including seven short art movies for the annual photo festival of Arles in southern France. The BESA Alucard system was featured in the traveling exhibition which went to Europe, Africa and the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Nescafé DesignBlend

One of the world’s most popular coffee brands. Available in many varieties to suit all tastes and occasions. Nescafé coffee was launched in Switzerland in 1938. Today consumers around the word enjoy the quality, flavour, aroma, convenience and natural goodness of Nescafé coffee in many different formats.

For Nescafé I designed a 8 meter fabric print wall and 4 exclusive presentation desks. For the print wall we decided to tell the story with photo blow-ups of coffee from bean to final product.

Design: Shiva Rimal
Production: The Project & Dimidesign.

KPN/Gemnet DesignBlend

KPN is the largest telecommunications company of the Netherlands providing fixed and mobile telephone services for private as well as corporate clients. From 2007 I was asked to design, manage and realise a variety of projects for KPN/Gemnet including a flash presentation, their corporate movie, concept study of a mobile presentation unit/bus and 6 consecutive years the stand for the annual trade show “Government & ICT”.

Today I want to show one of my favourite design projects for one of my first clients ever; Showroom façade, interior design and various websites for Einhaus Global Corporation in Borken Germany.

For the global market Einhaus focusses on the premium segment of vehicles which are in great demand and not easy to come by. Brands include Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Porsche and Rolls-Royce.

Urbain Trade DesignBlend

Urbain Trade offers total solutions, including the good feeling of coffee, for brands like Redbeans, Nescafe, Cup-a-Soup and Illy. Inspired by a blend of coffee and design I created for them the new showroom, presentation furniture, exclusive room divider and complete new corporate identity including logo, business cards, car-artwork and graphics.

Eye catcher in the new showroom is the Urban Tree Wall for Urbain Trade (mind the pronunciation) dividing the space while keeping the openness of the showroom.

Ther’s also my portfolio on a huge wall in the new showroom of Urbain Trade. I’m honored by the gesture.

Slow Design Tast - Concept Studies

Next to physically realized projects I have developed various design studies for spaces and objects to articulate function, form and first experience by visualizing spatial concepts. Here is a short movie highlighting the concept study for a new Nepali restaurant and snippets of a hotel in France, a private residence in Amsterdam and a showroom in Germany. The latter has actually been made in Borken.

Mastervolt DesignBlend

Mastervolt brings “The power to be independent”, by providing meaningful energy solutions for marine, industrial, construction and transportation markets around the world.

I was asked to design various spatial and presentation elements including the new mobile presentation unit for international use, a concept study for the presentation truck 2.0. Further more I designed various presentation objects and website for their suplly unit as well as some stand concepts for national and international trade shows.
